EDUCATION

The FBA Education Department is dedicated to providing quality seminars, workshops, and schools covering topics that are timely, beneficial, and valuable to your bank. Our goal is to give each attendee a thorough working knowledge of the subject presented, to be applied at their desks the very next day. As you review the links below you will find a full schedule of events, via several different delivery venues, throughout the year.

We know that determining how much to budget each year for continuing education can be challenging at times. In an effort to help you in this annual process, we have created an Excel spreadsheet that details all of the currently scheduled FBA educational events with the associated registration fee. There are spaces to add how many people you will be sending, and the associated travel expense for each event. Just plug in the numbers and the final amount needed to budget will be calculated for you. You can download this small file by clicking here, or on the link at the bottom of this page. If you have trouble accessing this budgeting tool please contact Peter Brokaw and he will be able to assist you.

Five different venues for continuing your banking education through the FBA are now available to you. We continue to offer the normal face to face Seminars and Schools you have come to know and trust, as well as the Webinars that are so popular due to their convenience and concise format. We also have three Internet based venues for you to access banking related training.

The first Internet option is offered through a partnership with Bankers Training & Certification Center, and offers you a variety of different topics via several different venues of delivery. They have numerous banking related courses ready and waiting for you to access..

The second option is access to live and interactive online seminars offered in conjunction with the Graduate School of Banking in Wisconsin, including new events on IRA training. The third Internet option is the Audio/Video Taped Courses. This option offers you a selection of current educational topics via streaming audio and video. All three of these Internet based options are available through your computer at work or at home, and offer you a sensible, convenient, and cost effective way to access continuing education.

We also offer you the option to schedule in-house training sessions. Contingent on speaker availability, you can now hold training sessions on most topics, at your own institutions, with the same speakers that FBA employs at the face-to-face seminars scheduled around the state. All topics or speakers may not be available at all times of the year. Please contact Peter Brokaw to discuss the details.

Notary training is available through our partnership with Huckleberry Notary Bonding, Inc. As you know, having a certified notary in your institution to notarize important documents in the office is a vital necessity. Now you can easily train any employee, or renew your notary's certification on-line by clicking on the link above.

We are pleased to announce that the Florida Banker’s Association and the College of Technology & Management at St. Petersburg College have agreed that graduates from the Florida School of Banking are eligible to receive six credits towards the College’s accredited baccalaureate degree in Banking. Click here for much more information on this new partnership.

We encourage you to search through the links on this page and see the events and courses FBA has available to help you in your continuing education efforts.
