Statewide Fraud Prevention Awareness Campaign with Attorney General’s Office
Fraud continues to pose a growing threat to Florida families and communities, with consumers losing more than $1 billion annually to scams and financial exploitation. As trusted financial institutions, Florida bankers are uniquely positioned to serve as a reliable source of information for customers navigating these threats. To help meet this growing need, the Florida Bankers Association is proud to partner with the Florida Attorney General’s Office on a new statewide fraud prevention awareness campaign aimed at equipping Floridians with practical tools to recognize, avoid and report fraud. This coordinated public awareness initiative will launch in June in recognition of Elder Abuse Awareness Month and include a coordinated media blitz. Throughout May, FBA will be preparing member banks for participation by distributing a series of ready-made customer education resources and implementation tools. Our goal is to make participation simple while creating a unified, statewide effort led by Florida’s banking industry to help better protect consumers, particularly older adults and other vulnerable populations. Working together, Florida bankers can make a meaningful difference in strengthening fraud awareness and consumer protection across our state. We strongly encourage every member bank to begin considering how your institution can participate in June and join us in amplifying this important initiative. Press Release
