The Florida Bankers Educational Foundation (FBEF) has financial assistance available to bankers seeking degrees from fifty-five FBEF Participating Universities in Florida. FBEF provides scholarships to bankers who wish to advance their careers through education.
In addition to providing funding for bankers to complete their college degree, the Foundation helps bankers through the Career Development Program. Bankers attending an approved professional development program who have a financial need can apply for assistance that helps pay for tuition.
FBEF funding applicants must be currently working at a FDIC-insured bank in Florida or a state or federally chartered trust company in Florida and have been employed for at least one year in the Florida banking industry prior to application. Please note that employment with a credit union or brokerage/investment firm does not meet this requirement.
Applicants must attend a FBEF Participating College or University and have a 2.5 GPA or higher.
Application deadlines are November 1st, March 1st, or June 1st.

FBEF Scholarship Program
Florida Bankers Educational Foundation has a scholarship program that awards funds to help Florida bankers advance their career through education. Qualified candidates who are pursuing a career in Florida banking while working to complete their college degree may apply for FBEF funding. A limited number of scholarships will be awarded to the top applicants annually.
FBEF Scholarship amounts are based on the semesters the student has remaining until graduation and may be pro-rated. Scholarship amounts range from $1,000 to $5,000, depending on the applicant’s current education level: College Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student.
If awarded, funds will be sent directly to an applicant’s college and may only be used for qualified educational expenses, which is defined by the IRS as tuition and required fees, or books or supplies that are required for students to complete a class. Grades must be sent to FBEF staff each semester as proof of enrollment to verify continued eligibility for the FBEF program.
