OPENING KEYNOTE:
RESILIENT IN REGIME CHANGE

Alicia Levine, Head of Investment Strategy and Equities, BNY Wealth

Despite a year of volatility, uncertainty, and concerns of a recession, the economy and stock market has held up and remained resilient. As the global economy undergoes structural shifts and concerns about trade, debt, and inflation linger, markets continue to question if this resiliency can persist. We think the answer is yes.
This session will outline how U.S. exceptionalism—driven by productivity, innovation, and resilient consumer demand—continues to support stronger earnings and economic growth relative to the rest of the world. While global equities have broadly rallied in 2025, U.S. performance is regaining leadership, underpinned by robust corporate margins, accelerating AI-driven investment, and policy incentives that strengthen supply chains and cyclical sectors. Despite risks from inflation, geopolitics, and seasonal volatility, fundamentals remain constructive: earnings growth is accelerating, valuations are supported by historically high margins, and consumer activity remains steady. While selective opportunities exist internationally, the U.S. is expected to remain the strategic leader in the next cycle. The key message is that markets ultimately follow earnings, not headlines, and that staying invested and diversified remains the most reliable path forward.

AI & THE WEALTH INDUSTRY

David L. Peterson, Chief Innovation Officer, First National Bankers Bank

As we head in the 2nd half of 2025, many financial institutions have yet to apply creativity and innovation to all areas of the enterprise. Factors such as the advancement of technology including AI, demographic trends and the continued marketing assault by non-banks suggests that innovative changes will be needed to ensure long term profitability and relevance. This is especially true of Wealth Management / Trust services. If you knew exactly who your customers would be and their unique expectations, it would be relatively easy to plan for the rollout of wealth services that directly appeal to that demand.

The intelligent and strategic use of AI will be a key element to future success. FNBB’s Chief Innovation Officer David Peterson will provide an informative and eye-opening look at what technology is likely to be on the near horizon and describe the actions that would be strategic for a financial institution to take an innovative approach to satisfying future customer expectations.

ETHICS IN WEALTH MANAGEMENT

Dr. Adam Scott Goldberg, J.D., LL.M, ED.D, Revis, Hervas and Goldberg P.A.

This session will explore the duties of a fiduciary, breaches of those duties, and how to protect the fiduciary from liability. We also explore ethical choices the trust officer must make and the importance of those choices for the trust officer personally and for the corporate fiduciary as an institution.
