This program will provide Florida’s bankers with current information on the risks and rewards of serving our state’s cannabis, hemp, and related industries. Many of the speakers are current or former bankers or regulators and, through a combination of speaker presentations and panel discussions, will address critical topics to include: 

• Current and expected status of state and federal cannabis and hemp laws; 
• Expected growth and opportunities for the cannabis and hemp industries, and for businesses that support them (ancillary businesses); 
• Risks and rewards of providing banking services to cannabis, hemp, or ancillary businesses; and 
• Regulatory expectations and BSA Compliance/Due Diligence processes of banks serving (and not serving) the cannabis or hemp industries, or ancillary businesses.

This event takes no position on legalization or use of marijuana and is not intended to provide guidance to Marijuana Related Businesses (MRBs) in finding banking services, nor is the program appropriate for MRBs or others who advocate measures to evade federal law.

Who Should Attend: This program is targeted to all who manage compliance, strategic, reputational, liquidity, operational, or credit risks in banking including: CEOs, Board Directors, legal counsel, lenders, COOs, CFOs, compliance officers, risk officers, and others. The program also is relevant to bank consultants, accountants, advisors, and bank vendors.

This session will provide an update on Cannabis, including the final hemp rules and a discussion on what the Supreme Court decision in the Florigrown case (which is expected to be issued in the days before the event) could mean for banking medical marijuana in Florida.
